Nose piercing which side is gay

A left nose piercing may relate to one’s sexual orientation. While you should never speculate on someone’s sexual orientation based on which side of their nose they have pierced, some people on TikTok pierce the left side to indicate they are heterosexual or bisexual. Traditionally, in some subcultures, a right-side nose piercing is viewed as a symbol of homosexuality, while the left side might not carry the same connotation.

I'm planning on getting my nose pierced and my friend said that the left side is the gay side so I should get it on the right side? Is that true? I'm not. Used to work in tattoo/piercing shop, nose piercing sides are not gendered. Even ear piercing sides for men (the "gay" side) is made up by kids and changes all the time. While it is true that septum piercings have become increasingly popular among queer people, they don’t necessarily mean that someone is gay or lesbian.

Nose piercings do not make someone gay or lesbian—only being romantically attracted to people of the same sex as you means you are gay or lesbian. The belief that a nose piercing on a certain side stands for the person's sexuality. Preferably the right side meaning straight and left side being gay. I've heard if you get a nose piercing depending on whatever side you choose it means you're gay or straight.

I'll be getting a nose piercing soon but I just want to know if people actually think if this is real or not. Since for ear piercings the saying has been "right is wrong and left is right" meaning a single piercing on the left side meant heterosexual, a single piercing on the right side meant homosexual. I would say it's the opposite, but I've yet to see anyone actually use it to subtly indicate ones orientation Likes 9.
